10 things to expect from windows 10

Does 29th July, 2015 ring any bell to you? Well it should. Microsoft, the Apple competitor, will release the new windows 10 on 29th July. Now we all know windows 8 was a disaster. From the last conference of Microsoft, we believe there will be something that will change this mentality upside down. So what are the features that we can expect from windows 10? Let’s jump on to that.
The regular start menu with a new spice
Remember the tiles that appear before you when starting a windows computer? Yes, most of the people did not like it. Therefore Microsoft took steps to revamp it. To make a win-win situation for both who didn’t like and who did like, they will put a start menu which will be attached with desktop and at the same time the tiles will merge with the start menu. Users probably would have an option to customize it.

Cortana- the assistant
Those of you who do not know about Cortana, cortana is an intelligent voice assistant embedded in windows platform just like SIRI in IOS or GOOGLE Now in android. Cortana is already available in windows mobile. However, Microsoft will put cortana in computer so that it will be easy for you to interact with the OS. All you need to say out loud is “Hey Cortana” and it will pop up from the taskbar and response according to your demand.

Microsoft Edge
World’s most unused browser from Microsoft is finally gone. Microsoft is going to introduce their new advance browser- Microsoft Edge instead of internet explorer. Initially they commenced a browser named as “project Spartan” which sounds pretty cool. Later on they changed the name to Microsoft Edge. I was disappointed to hear that they end up with a very traditional name whereas Spartan sounded very powerful and different. Despite their decision in changing name, with the new features of cortana integration, reader view of website pages will definitely enhance the experience of browsing though the net. Unlike other browsers, Microsoft edge will enable you to write, take notes, doodle and highlight directly on web pages which they are calling web notes.

The effect of continuum feature
Although all we are thinking is getting windows 10 in our traditional desktops or laptops, Microsoft did not forget one more device to set up windows 10 in it. While traditional start menu will be available in non-touch displays, to adjust the menu with touch display, they have added continuum feature so that while interacting in a small touch mobile or in a touch sensitive laptop the regular start menu will stretch to fit into the screen.
Task View
Task view is nothing but the feature of multi tasking. Task view is now more interactive and user friendly to switch between applications. Moreover, there will be a feature “multiple desktop” which I will point in the next expected item. You can swap your tasks between multiple desktops. For example in one desktop you’re working in a doc file while playing games on the other desktop.

Multiple Desktop
Multiple desktop is like having multiple monitors opened at the same time without interrupting one desktops work from the other. Windows 10 will allow you to create multiple desktops so that you don’t have to hang up your Skype call while working on a design. With multiple desktop, productivity will go high without any doubt. As of now, you can create up to nine desktop at a time and you can share one desktops data with the other.
Snap Quadrants
While windows 8 have the option of split screen, windows 10 will now shift the capability from two screens to four screens splitting. With the help of snap quadrants, you can access and work on four apps at a time.
Xbox integration with windows 10
Microsoft has announced that they will fortify the gaming experience by integrating xbox games into windows OS. This will be a major update for game fanatics. If they could do what they are saying then you would be able to play games on your windows desktop which you were playing in your Xbox one. This could also mean that number of apps and games will increase to work between multiple windows devices like desktop, laptop, Xbox and mobile.

Microsoft Hololens
Most anticipating feature of windows 10 is the Hololens. It’s my favourite one. Hololens offers the true three dimensional realities and the application of it is mindblowing. From gaming to medicine, from designing to drawing, everything can be done with the help of hololens. To understand it really well I am going to add a video below and after watching this I am sure you are going to agree with me on the capability of hololens.

Free of cost!!!
The best news probably for the current windows 7 and 8.1 users is that they would be able to entertain windows 10 free of cost for up to 1 year. In case you don’t know, according to a research, 74.1 percent of windows users are currently using both of those versions. However, after the completion of first year you have to pay $119 for home edition and $199 for pro edition. Moreover if you want to upgrade from home to pro edition, it will cost you another $99 dollar.
Recently Microsoft’s big competitor Apple has jumped into their new Mac OS “El Capitan” to boost the productivity of Mac users. Question is can Microsoft’s windows 10 can stand against it?

We shall see!!
